The mighty Kanchenjunga, one of the highest mountains in the world, stood tall and proud, especially at sunrise when its peaks glowed in the golden light—pure magic!
Green valleys stretched out endlessly, dotted with colorful flowers, sparkling rivers, and waterfalls crashing down with force. Waking up to this every day felt like living inside a painting—one that changed colors every few minutes!
A Blend of Cultures
But Sikkim isn’t just about stunning sights. The culture blends Tibetan, Nepali, and Bhutia traditions, and it’s a treat to experience. I’ll never forget the peaceful atmosphere at the monasteries, especially Rumtek, where monks chant and the walls tell stories of deep spirituality.
Sikkimese festivals, like Losar and Saga Dawa, burst with color and joy. Locals dressed in traditional clothes danced to age-old tunes, and even though I was just a visitor, they welcomed me like family—Sikkimese hospitality is truly special.

If you love adventure, Sikkim will thrill you. I couldn’t resist the mountains, so I took on the Goecha La trek. It was tough, but absolutely worth it! Walking through thick forests, past clear lakes, and up high passes with endless views made me feel deeply connected to nature.
Even if trekking isn’t your thing, Sikkim offers plenty of excitement. You can go river rafting in the Teesta, paraglide over Gangtok, or mountain bike through rugged trails. And when you need to unwind, just sit by the calm Tsomgo Lake or bask in the beauty of Yumthang Valley—it’s pure peace.

If you’re planning a trip to Sikkim, here are some must-visit spots I absolutely loved:
